Never underestimate little old ladies.

Mrs. Evangeline Brown plants her bulbs, teaches her piano students, and bakes her cookies (occasionally of the medicinal variety, it’s good for the joints). Her life is ordered and predictable, just the way she prefers – until a Horseman arrives at her door on the eve of her eighty-fifth birthday with a frightening charge: either halt society’s slide into apathy, or there won’t be a flower field to look forward to come spring.

Faced with a fight for the very heart of humanity and armed with little but lived experience and the stubbornness of a retired schoolteacher, Evangeline assembles a collective of little old ladies much like herself – women society has largely forgotten, with talents relegated to collect cobwebs. But together, they must find the strength and the means to sway hearts and minds, or see the world crumble as the Four fulfill their task.
